A Love Letter from Beyond ~ More Proof There is Life After Life

There is Life after Life.

When one dies or as I like to say, "makes their transition", the only thing that changes is the loss of the physical body. Death is simply a transition from physical to non-physical. Life, although altered, continues in an even more profound way.

A Love Letter from Beyond

Recently I had the honor of meeting a woman from Arizona who happened to be visiting a friend in town. This woman, a few months prior, had 'lost' the love of her life, unbeknownst to me. Upon her arrival here in town they were discussing life and how things feel now with the absence of this beautiful soul. She was encouraged to come see me just to see what may happen.

When we began the session I informed her that a man was present immediately. It was a strong presence and he came through before I even finished my 'opening process.' I told her that he was full of love and surrounding her with his arms and that he was exclaiming how wonderful it feels to be free and unlimited.

He had a wonderful sense of humor apparently because he wanted her to know that first he was peaceful and he wasn't afraid and most importantly he said making the transition was FUN! He emphasized Fun! She laughed and said he was such a light spirit and that sounded exactly like him to have fun with making the transition. He told her he could feel life in his body, in a strange way because he has no body now, yet that it was fun to feel again. He was immediately going all over, visiting, traveling, everywhere and she laughed validating this sounded like him. She said all of this so far was poignant because that last few years of his life he suffered from ALS and of course was unable to do that.

His energy came through with such excitement and engagement. He acknowledged that he communicates with her through the wind. Her walks at home include a beautiful path beside giant windmills. As she talks with him one windmill in particular begins to move as if he is able to reply with the turn of the giant arms. It is his smile back at her. He told her he loved being here on the planet and was already planning his next incarnation. He wants to live overseas and in particular he wants to be in the Greek Islands. He wants to be in a small community and he wants to go out on the boats to fish. She laughed out loud then and said his favorite character from a novel is Zorba The Greek.

He wanted to be Zorba, always did.

They shared a love of the literary world and wrote poems together. This I learned as he was showing me both of them writing. He encouraged her to write more and began telling me about Grass- there was something about Grass that was important. I asked her if they ever wrote a poem about Grass and she said no, however, one of their favorite poems had a line about grass in it. She didn't think it meant too much at the time.

He went on to bring up wind chimes and again, she laughed in surprise. She didn't have any at home, yet at her friend's house there are wind chimes. She was sitting on the porch the morning before she was coming to meet me thinking and the wind chimes started ringing, enough so, she remarked how as she sat there, she thought how beautiful the sound was. She didn't make the connection at the time. We both knew then he was saying hello. He told us that there are no windmills here so he took advantage of the chimes.

The session went on and more and more came through, with the occasional reminder about grass, something definitely with grass! His personality loud and large and expansive was inspiring. In the end we both felt complete and truly lifted from the exchange. I was so honored to be able to share in that reunion of sorts.

A week or so later, after her arrival home, she was looking through her pages of letters that they had exchanged, poems they loved, poems they had written together. A massive collection of love in letters. She found herself reading their favorite poem, the one she initially didn't think much of a connection with in our session; however, she was quickly aware, it had EVERYTHING he wanted to say....

THE SUMMER DAY

by Mary Oliver

Who made the world?

Who made the swan, and the black bear?

Who made the grasshopper?

This grasshopper, I mean --

the one who has flung herself out of the grass,

the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,

who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down --

who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.

Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.

Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.

I don't know exactly what a prayer is.

I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down

into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,

how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,

which is what I have been doing all day.

Tell me, what else should I have done?

Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do

with your one wild and precious life?

She finished her message to me acknowledging that they talked about this poem many times, and now was sure that he was and is asking her the poem's final question, "what do I plan to do with the rest of my one wild and precious life?"

She told me that she talks to him everyday and is working on the answer!

With all of that said, just an update on my Dad, if you read my last blog about him. He continues to show up for me and others, leaving dollars and sometimes two! My trip to see my "Sand Dollar" girlfriend in Arizona was nothing short of Magical and a story definitely to share. Stay tuned for that one- you will laugh at how much my Dad was around. I mean, it is beyond obvious.

I also want to thank you ALL for sharing your stories with me of how the newsletter regarding my dad touched you. I thank you too for sharing your own stories dealing with transition. We heal through stories and I am truly grateful to be a part of your journey and for you to be a part of mine.

Until next time, with tales of the "Sand Dollar" Girlfriend - just more proof from my Dad that there IS truly Life after Life...

Now, tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
